Tournaments at Recruits

We plan to host several miniature tournaments at Recruits this Fall. For more information, please contact Duane or Laura Fleck at Duane@recruits-con.com

Flames of War Tournament 

Sponsored by 10th Cav

Rules:

•Version Two Rules, 5 Rounds, 2.5 hours each round Scenarios: Encounter, Hold the Line, Breakthrough, Free For All and Fighting Withdrawal (in that order).  The Seize and Hold mission for Allied Paras will be allowed to replace FFA, but the Allied Para player will be responsible for bringing the required additional terrain (Rommel's Asparagus) for this mission for their opponent to deploy.
•1750 points from any official published LATE war list will be eligible
• Prizes for Best Overall, Best General, Best Painted, Best History, and Best Table will be awarded, along with the 10th Cav Military Misfortune Award.
• Best Overall will be the player with the highest combined scores in the Best General, Best Painted and Best Sportsman categories.
• Best General will be determined by wins and losses. Total points will be the Tournamentstiebreaker.
• Best Historical Army will be a combination of painting score (as determined by the judges) and unit history score.
• Best Painted will be determined by players and a 3rd party. It will be a 1 Vote system. Players wishing to qualify for Best Painted must have painted at least their force minus one platoon. That is, if you are playing 8 platoons, 7 of them must have been painted by you. At some point, players will be asked to display their armies to be voted upon.
•Sportsmanship will be scored using the Battlefront Tournament Scoring system.
• We are relying on help and donated terrain for the majority of the boards. If you would like to be eligible for the Best Table award, you must provide a table that is suitable for the above Missions.

Warmachine & Hordes Tournaments

Sessions 2-4

Fall Recruits Battle for the Iron Kingdoms Challenge! 500 point Hordes and Warmachine Mixed Tournament.

The sound of raging warbeasts clash with the thunderous pistons of steam powered metal monstrosities.  Warlocks and Warjacks battle it out in the Iron Kingdoms while minions and mercs vie for the highest while whispering seductive words of persuasion into the moneyholder's ears.  Step up to the challenge, build two 500 point legal lists to become the Fall Recruits Battle for the Iron Kingdoms Champion!
Steamroller 3.0 Rules (two lists, different scenarios, etc)

Registration: 9am at tournament tables on the balcony
Entry fee: None
Round 1 Start time: 10am
Rounds: 4 rounds minimum, 5 depending on turnout
Length: 75 minutes per round, lunch break between rounds 2 and 3.
Prizes: Faction Certificates, Gold card(s) redemption for both Hordes and Warmachine Hordes Patches, Warmachine Patches, Token sets, and Dice sets

Tournaments

Painting: If you can, bring a painted army. Prizes will be awarde for best painted army.  I'm hoping to do a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place painting prize.

Terrain: If you can bring terrain, you'll get a special prize as well.  Please help supply the tournament with good terrain.

DBA Tournament

The tournament will the standard four round event with each round last 55 minutes. Start time will be noon on Saturday 29 March, 2008. Army scale will be 15 MM, DBA rules version 2.2 will be used. Any of the armies listed in rules version 2.2 can be used for the tournament.  Sixteen slots will be available for those who want to take part. First prize will be a painted 15 MM DBA army. Second prize will be a unpainted 15 MM DBA army.

HeroScape

Fee: None (other than any fee into Recruits-Con itself)

Prize support will be provided by Pulp Fiction Comics & Games, House Mouse Games (tentatively), and the fine folks from Recruits-Con

500 point army (No Marvel or Custom figures)
24 Hex maximum-size for army
Swiss-style tournament rules
Currently no player maximum.  (This may change due to space constraints...check back for updates!)
5 50 minute rounds
First round starts at 10:00am
 
Currently the only additional rules other than the standard are:
 
Losing Points:
AE will count towards the 24 hex limit. If they don't drop they don't count towards the loser's points. If the Rechets are not summoned because Iskara is destroyed, then the Rechets will count towards the loser's points.
